Splitbite Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026 Updated: September 22, 2026 Support: nextbite@splitbite.app
1. What stays on the board on this iPhone
Splitbite is a local-first Utilities unstick board. You drop a stuck pile on the cutting board — a photo, a pasted thread, or a spoken line — and the in-app nested agent cuts a NextBite, a TimeBlock, and a start-now checklist you can walk. StuckBlobs, NextBites, TimeBlocks, CheckItems, ToneDrafts, parked cuts, and preference signals stay on this iPhone. Splitbite does not create a Splitbite account and does not sync your board to a Splitbite cloud. It is not a team project manager and not a clinical tool.
2. What you create or keep
You may keep pile titles and stills, pasted or spoken lines, accepted bites, time-block minutes, checklist progress, loosened tone lines, notification toggles (time-block end / sat-too-long), and the AI data-sharing preference you set. Opening the board, photographing a pile, pasting a thread, walking checks, or parking a cut does not require a login.
3. Permissions you control
When you choose the related feature, Splitbite may ask for:
- Camera to photograph the thing that froze you so the helper can split the next bite onto it
- Photo Library to pick a stuck note or mail screenshot already in Photos, and to save a stuck still or accepted bite back when you ask
- Microphone only while you hold the mic to say the stuck line
- Speech recognition to turn that speech into text; Splitbite requests on-device recognition when Apple Speech supports it
- Local notifications (optional) so a finished TimeBlock and a sat-too-long reminder can fire after the first accepted cut or when you enable a toggle in Settings — never as a cold-launch prompt
Deny any permission and keep using the paths that do not need it — for example typing or pasting instead of speaking, choosing Photo Library or a sample still when the camera stays off, or leaving notifications off. This tip does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not integrate an advertising or analytics SDK.
4. No In-App Purchases in this build
The reviewed build does not include StoreKit, subscriptions, consumable credits, Restore, or a Splitbite paywall. There is no spend unit attached to Accepting a cut, walking a checklist, loosening a line, or sending a DeepSeek turn.
5. No cross-app tracking or analytics SDK
PrivacyInfo on this tip sets tracking to false with an empty tracking-domain list. Splitbite does not ship Adjust, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or another measurement SDK on the reviewed Sources. The board, bites, and checks run on this iPhone. We do not sell pile stills or transcripts to data brokers for advertising.
6. Optional cloud AI (DeepSeek cutter)
Nested-agent cuts leave this iPhone only after you tap Allow this cut (or Allow & continue when a photo, line, or ask is already queued) on Splitbite’s consent card — or after you re-enable Settings → AI data sharing when no prior Allow exists. Tapping Keep it on the phone keeps the on-device board, bites, checks, and parked cuts fully usable; no DeepSeek request is built. Turning AI data sharing off stops later and in-flight DeepSeek requests immediately.
When allowed for a cut, Splitbite may send only what that turn packs:
- The pile’s photo pixels when a still is attached
- The pasted or spoken line for that cut
- How long the pile has sat and prior bite outcomes needed for the split
- The typed or spoken ask for a talk-dock / tone-loosen turn
Splitbite does not collect face data, contacts, calendar events, payment data, or advertising identifiers inside DeepSeek payloads — even when you photograph a note or a screen. Requests go to DeepSeek at api.deepseek.com using the operator model configured in the app (deepseek-v4-flash-vision-exp). DeepSeek’s policy is linked in-app: https://cdn.deepseek.com/policies/en-US/deepseek-privacy-policy.html
A MiniMax API key may be present in the binary for future work; this tip does not open a MiniMax network path, so MiniMax does not receive your board data from Splitbite today.
7. Nudges, shortcuts, and deletion
TimeBlock-end and sat-too-long nudges are scheduled locally through Apple’s notification center after the first accepted cut or when you enable a Settings toggle — never as a cold-launch prompt. App Intents may paste a stuck thread or capture a stuck still onto the board on this device only. Deleting the app removes local board JSON, media, consent preferences, and caches Splitbite stored. We cannot rebuild wiped on-device data from our side.
8. Children and sensitive categories
Splitbite is a Utilities assistant for adults walking their own stuck piles. It is not Goblin Tools itself, a Kids Category product, a medical or clinical device, or a guaranteed unstick outcome. Nested-agent bites, time blocks, and tone lines can be wrong — review every Accept before you rely on them.
